Position Description
A professional sports team in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a dynamic, experienced Physiotherapist who will support in overseeing the medical, rehabilitative, and performance monitoring services of the team. The ideal candidate will provide a holistic, evidence-based approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization. This leadership role requires a high degree of collaboration with coaching, medical, and performance staff to ensure player health, safety, and peak performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
- Registered and in good standing as a Physiotherapist in Canada.
- At least 1 year (or season) of experience in semi-professional or professional sport.
- Certified in First Responder/Field Side Emergency Care (required).
- Certified in Dry Needling/IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) (required).
- Certified or trained in Spinal and Peripheral Joint Manipulation (preferred, not required).
- Certified in Strength & Conditioning from an accredited Canadian Program (preferred, not required).
- Strong understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation techniques, and return-to-play protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Able to travel with the team and work evenings/weekends as required.
