Incarceration

Over 60% of people who were in jail will be there again. Scary, uh?

Incarceration creates a whole set of problems on its own. The harshness of being incarcerated can produce symptoms similar to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. You may have already entered the prison system with traumas from your past. Things don’t get any better. Hypervigilance, irritability, anger outbursts, nightmares, avoidance, and distressing recollection of memories associated with the trauma can interfere with all of your relationships upon your release.

Listen to my podcast interview on PTSD and incarceration here!

You had to be tough in jail in order to survive. You may have learned to isolate and mistrust. You may still have a drug or alcohol problem. You may be under a lot of stress due to financial reasons and difficulties finding a job. Maybe you feel bad about yourself or even hopeless about your future.

I can help you reintegrate successfully, repair your self-esteem, become a more productive, happy, and fulfilled member of society and…stay out!
