Animal Rehabilitation
The Animal Rehabilitation Division (ARD) is comprised of a group of physical therapists passionate about the physical health and function of our small and large animal patients. We realize the importance of animals in our society and appreciate the joy of seeing them reach their full potential.
Membership Renewal Update: ARD is Transitioning to ARAC

As of October 1, 2025, the Animal Rehabilitation Division (ARD) will transition to the new Animal Rehabilitation Association of Canada (ARAC).
In 2024, the CPA and ARD shared the news that the Division would become a new, independent organization focused on promoting the delivery of rehabilitation to animals by physiotherapists in Canada. ARD will no longer operate as an official Division of the CPA. This new organization—ARAC—has now been created and will instead function as a strategic partner of the CPA.
As part of your 2025 CPA membership renewal, you will have the option to add an ARAC membership during the renewal process, instead of selecting the Animal Rehabilitation Division, which will no longer be available.
Look for ARAC’s new website coming soon at www.animalrehabcanada.ca!
The ARD advocates that registered physiotherapists are the professionals of choice to provide animal rehabilitation. The ARD is a resource for the best practice of animal rehabilitation through education, professional development and communication within the animal health care industry.
The benefits of membership in the division are:
- Reduced rates on courses
- Quarterly e-newsletter
- Mentorship opportunities
- Access to professional malpractice insurance for animal rehab
- Product discounts
- Advocacy
