Your Voice in Action. Advocacy That Delivers.

As a CPA member, you’re part of a powerful national movement working to elevate the physiotherapy profession and expand access to quality care for all Canadians. Our advocacy is driven by evidence, shaped by the profession, and powered by your support.

The CPA and its Branches work together to advocate at every level — federal, provincial, territorial — to strengthen the role of physiotherapy in Canada’s health-care system.

Real Impact. Proven Results.

CPA advocacy has contributed to meaningful policy changes across the country, including:

  • Scope of practice expansions, such as diagnostic imaging authority
  • Inclusion of physiotherapists in Canada’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program
  • Improved pathways for internationally educated professionals to join the workforce
  • Stronger recognition of physiotherapy in national health strategies

Evidence-Based Advocacy

We back our positions with research and data, including:

  • The Economic Impact of Physiotherapy in Canada (Deloitte)
  • The Physiotherapy Scope of Practice reports

These tools help us demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and system-wide value of physiotherapy to decision-makers across the country.

Branch Advocacy in Action

CPA works closely with its Branches to advocate for change at the provincial and territorial level — from funding models to public access, we tackle the issues that matter most in your region.

Advocacy works best when we work together. Join CPA and help shape the future of physiotherapy in Canada.
